ShyAnn and Ryan Hooper Memorial Scholarship
By making a contribution through this donation page, you're raising funds to support scholarships for graduating seniors at Northwest High School in honor of ShyAnn and Ryan Hooper.
ShyAnn was a 16-year-old sophomore at Northwest High School when her life tragically ended on February 10, 2014. Tommy and Sandra Hooper established a scholarship in ShyAnn’s name to honor their daughter’s memory. On December 9, 2014, ShyAnn’s varsity basketball jersey number “24” was retired. Her varsity coach named her “Bulldog” because she knew what she wanted in life and was focused on achieving those goals. ShyAnn was passionate, full of love for others, and respected as a leader in school, church and social life. Her magnetic effervescence drew teenagers to her for leadership and she was exceptionally mature beyond her 16 years.
Ryan was a beloved teacher and coach when he passed away in a fatal car accident on December 3, 2021. He taught 7th grade character education in Caldwell ISD and coached the Caldwell Junior High football and Caldwell High School basketball teams. Prior to that, Ryan was the Communities in Schools Program Manager at Chisholm Trail High School. Ryan loved teaching, cared for his students and was a positive role model in the communities he served.
ShyAnn and Ryan were deeply loved by all who met them and the memory of these remarkable siblings can live forever in this scholarship awarded to an outstanding senior each year.
